Osteoarthritis (OA) is a wear-and-tear arthritis that affects the joints. Hands, hips, and knees. The cartilage in a joint begins to deteriorate, and the underlying bone changes as a result of OA. These alterations typically take time to manifest and worsen. Pain, stiffness, and swelling are all common symptoms of osteoarthritis. It can also result in decreased function and impairment; if left untreated, people will be unable to perform everyday duties or job.
